The Department of Labor’s Employment & Training Administration (ETA)funds job training programs to improve the employment prospects of adults, youth, and dislocated workers. These programs are delivered primarily by states through the One-Stop Career Center System. Training programs can vary from state to state depending on the skills that are needed to compete for jobs in the local area. All programs are aimed at boosting workers’ employability and earnings.

ETA’s Web site provides a clickable map of One-Stop Centers’ web sites for each state. ETA also provides a number of electronic tools for finding training opportunities in is online CareerOneStop. The mySkills myFuture websiteidentifies local training opportunities which can help bridge your skills gap as you build a bridge from your last job to your next job. You can also find information on local training programs by visiting America’s Service Locator or calling ETA’s toll-free help line at (877) US2-JOBS.

Training programs aimed at improving safety and health in the workplace are provided by the Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA). These programs are designed to teach workers and employers how to recognize, avoid, and prevent safety and health hazards at their worksites.
